As the Covia Chief Operations Officer I want to take the time to recognize the Bright Solutions team on the success of a recent project and our satisfaction with the results.

We engaged Bright Solutions to lead the HR team in evaluating and implementing a new HRIS, Time and Attendance, and Payroll system to support our 1300 employees. We decided to replace our existing HRIS system for several reasons including its inability to provide adequate data analytics. Our HR team was challenged to not simply replace a software application but also to optimize existing workflows. Many inherent challenges exist with a project of this magnitude, and communication and change management are critical to its success.

Bright Solutions has been our partner on multiple projects. I knew Katie Griffith had the experience and expertise to help us identify the right HRIS system match, and the project management skills to lead the implementation with tangible results.

Katie used a logical and methodical approach to identify what the system needed to do for our specific application. Bright Solutions' work saved our team a tremendous amount of time, reduced the complexity, and resulted in a clear, unanimous decision of the new HRIS system. The time required to implement this type of solution is taxing on my team coupled with changing processes from “the way we’ve always done it” to optimized, can result in employees feeling alienated or disenchanted. Our biggest risks – and historically our biggest costs – with technology partner selections has been (1) NOT getting the right system for our actual needs, (2) NOT getting the system implemented correctly the first time, and (3) NOT getting our vendor contracts structured correctly up front. Each of these risks has historically resulted in undesirable results such as being overcharged, having to re-build and re-implement, to even scrapping an entire system in favor of the one we should have selected the first time. With engaging Bright Solutions, Covia has been able to mitigate these risks and costs in a cost effective manner.
